Worms Deskmate 1.1 Won't Say See Ya

Hi! I have a desktop pet named Worms Deskmate 1.1, and I enjoy him. He entertains me. Now, when I right-click on him and click Close, he says "See Ya!" When I close Windows instead, he doesn't. I like it when he says that. Is there a way to get him to say "See Ya!" when I shut down Windows? I don't want to upgrade, because I don't want to do that to him.

 

Which OS?

 

Win7/64 and Win11/64. Don't remember the editions, but Win7 uses the aero GUI.

For Windows 7, it should still be available through the Sound applet in Control Panel

 

Everything else works. I just want my worm to say "See Ya!" when I exit Windows without closing him first.

 

Try contacting the developer if it isn't a Windows event sound that you're looking for.

 

Just clip the sound bite, open gpedit.msc, under Computer Config> Windows Settings> Scripts (Startup/Shutdown), click Shutdown and add your script to run the sound there...

I know your next response is "I want it to ...", but as the song goes, you can't always get what you want.

So learn to decompile the exe and patch it to do what you want or get a macro program to perform these tasks.
