Desktop Will Not Shut Down

I have an older desktop running Windows 10. I used to shut it down every night without a problem, with it taking about a minute to switch off completely.

Recently it has refused to turn off. I have let it run for up to fifteen minutes after giving it the shutdown command from the menu, but eventually I have had to use the power button to turn it off.

It starts up normally.

I recently purchased the IOBIT software package after using the free versions for a long time, and I had just run Advanced System Care and Malware Fighter (full scan). Could that have anything to do with it?

Edited to Add: Looking elsewhere I found a suggestion to use this command:

"shutdown /r /t 0"

to shut it down. I haven't done so yet. Does anyone know of any problems with using that command to solve my problem?

 

Run this option to shutdown quickly like all most instant shutdown.

 

that .Bat is the correct shutdown it's just faster to double click.

No problem i have tested it on windows 11 all so works on that too.
