I have WinMount installed on a few computers and like using it. Now, I want to register it, so I can mount more than one archive or large archives. I know I need to register it to get these benefits. I Googled it and found WinMount - Register. However, it said I need to order it online to register, but I didn't order it: I downloaded it for free. How do I register it online or at least order it first so I can register it?

You may actually have to go with the $49 option rather than the free version.

$49 is kind of steep. :( Is there a lesser version, maybe a little old, that costs less? I just want it to work. :)

On their website are listed four free versions, 32- and 64-bit, and two that may be for earlier editions of Windows. I do not know if any will do what you want.

I have WinMount, and I already found that web site. I clicked Register, even though I'm not ready to buy it yet, but found some dead links. If that's solved, $49 might be good enough. I really want something cheaper, though. :)

    Doesn't everybody?

Look at the dates on the file versions. This program may no longer be supported, and there may be no one there for you to pay, regardless.

You're right. The only other alternative of which I'm aware that can do the job is DriveSpace, but that's for Win98. :( And Stacker.... If necessary, I can use 7Zip and a batch file to decompress the information, use SUBST to create a new drive, wait for me to finish then recompress the information and clean up. I've been doing that for aWin98SE tower with only ~2.1GB usable hard drive space and plan to do that with my experiments with file compression later.

DAEMON Tools Lite may work for what you are doing. Way cheaper if it does. Free if you don't mind ads.
I personally use PowerISO, I bought it years ago. Been years since I have used Daemon Tools.

I just checked, but I want the information to be compressed.
