The 'PC Health Check' tool confirms that my PC is compatible with Windows 11 but when I try to install (not clean install but upgrade over Win 10) the upgrade fails right at the end with the screen below... but I'm not using a USB flash drive. I am downloading and installing on my SATA SSD Win 10 boot drive. Any ideas to get around this?

Thanks for your help but I got there in the end.

    For others to follow:

I used WhyNotWin11 (from MajorGeeks) and it found no reason why I shouldn't be able to install. From Microsoft Community forums I was told to find PortableOperatingSystem value in the registry and change the value to 0 (from 1) I did as suggested and tried installing again. Next time it ran all the way to the end but failed because (not exact words) but the version of windows was not compatible and when it becomes available it will show in settings> update.

Once I quit from that message I went to the settings>update and suddenly the Windows update was offered (where previously I had downloaded directly from Microsoft...) so I started with this link and eventually it installed! Happy days!
