Hi! I'm happy with my gadgets and are using them more than I thought I would. now, I'm looking for a gadget to fit a particular purpose: I want to store often-used string snippets in one gadget. I'm currently using a post-it-type gadget to store one string but want something like a list from which to select a string. Is there a name to use to search for the needed gadget? BTW, I lost the web page from which I recently downloaded some gadgets. :(

What operating system? Win 10 or 11 have the extended clipboard that functions like that - hit Win +V to paste and you'll see a list to pick from. You can pin frequently used.

Here's how to enable Clipboard History:
    1. Open Settings: You can do this by pressing the Windows key + I.
    2. Go to System: Click on "System" in the Settings window.
    3. Navigate to Clipboard: On the left side, click on "Clipboard".
    4. Toggle Clipboard History: Locate the "Clipboard history" toggle and switch it to "On".

Win11. Thank you. :) BTW, I looked and found that one of my gadgets and another program actually show me the clipboard history. While the history is good, I want to paste a certain string I use often that may or may not be one of the last clipboard images.

So, you didn't even look?? That is built into Windows and does EXACTLY what you asked.."hit Win +V to paste and you'll see a list to pick from"

I actually want to keep a few specific strings I use often in a close place so I can copy them to the clipboard when needed and paste them where I need them, but it's okay, as I have what I want: I can put the strings in a post-it-notes-like gadget.

An issue with the notes gadget: I find the text to be a little too large: the lowest font size I can get is 9. I want 8. Changing the font helped there, though: at least I can fit more text there. :)
