Is it just me, or is anyone else tired of Samsung and Microsoft pushing their crap onto people? I can't even use the Outlook app on my phone now without seeing the icon for CoPilot, which I had done everything conceivable to disable. I don't need my grammar corrected. I don't need "suggestions" while I'm composing correspondence. Maybe I'm just old, but I don't want this "WALL-E" grade crap in my life. It even seems like Google has destroyed its shopping page. What used to be a nice, simple, functional thing has now become clicking the "Back" button to return to "All Results" or just closing the tab and starting over. And don't get me started on how using filters is borderline useless and still brings up all manner of crap you're not looking for. Just fixing things until they're broken, they are...

Aah, you must not spend much time with the current generation. They don't know the difference between a raven and a writing desk and are specifically the reason that warning labels exist. THEY need AI, because they're almost patently incapable of thinking for themselves. Also, I find much peeve with the fact that none of these AI understand an Oxford comma. Therefore, I have taught the predictive text on multiple platforms HEAPS of profanity. If I type duck, it now asks me if I meant to type F*ck, F*cker, or F*ckw*t

I don't know. AI is improving quite rapidly. Just today I had Copilot+ build me a custom filtering ruleset for uBlock Origin. Quite handy. It's also quite handy in my profession if you know how and when to use it (and not to use it).

I don't use Outlook privately, and professionally the Copilot+ integration can have advantages, like automated planning with the internal calendars.

The Samsung software on my phone doesn't bother me, or at least not much. Google (Gemini) and Microsoft (Copilot), though? Enough already! They need to understand that some of us don't want, or need, a machine doing our thinking for us and, when we disable or uninstall something, we really want it to stay that way. Continually foisting their unwanted crap off on us is just...rude.

Unfortunately, this might indeed be a side-effect of age; most of those whom I know who are comfortable with this AI dreck are generally far younger than I am.
