When I reply to an email in eMClient in x32Win10ProV22H2, very often a page called OPERATIONS opens, with the following content :

<<[my email address] : Connecting to [my email address] failed [time].
[SMTP] An attempt to connect to [my email address] failed.
This could be caused by temporary server unavailability or incorrect settings.
Do you want to check the settings?
    Open account settings Ignore >>

Opening account settings does not reveal any suggestion for improvement, so I click on IGNORE.
Then the OPERATIONS window changes to say 'There are no errors' and my reply gets sent and received...

Surely this is time-wasting and should be avoided. HOW can I correct this ?

Obviously support is lacking for eMclient!
I haven't used any email client in decades so I can't help you with this.

In general - who is the provider? Gmail, Y!, or an ISP - Not all SMTP configs are the same.
Is this a new issue? What changed?
So the "failed to connect" will go away and mail works if you ignore it?

'who is the provider? Gmail' Yes, it is.

'Is this a new issue?' Much more recent than my use of eMClient.

'So the "failed to connect" will go away and mail works if you ignore it?' Correct.

Using an APP Password with GMail?
    Use these Gmail SMTP:
    Server: smtp.gmail.com
Port: 587 (STARTTLS) or 465 (SSL)
    Authentication: Yes
    Username: your full Gmail address
Password: App Password, not your main Gmail password
Enable 2FA and create an App Password for the email client.
Check antivirus/firewall logs if it’s blocking outbound connections.
