How Long Does Task Manager Run ?

    How long should it take task manager to run? Mine has been running for 3 hours and is still not done. This is a new HP Desktop with Windows 10 .

    It runs until you choose to close Task Manager. You click the X in the upper right corner to close it.
    Task Manager doesn't run by itself; you had to have started it by either pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc, or Ctrl+Alt+Del or right-click or tap-and-hold on any empty space on the taskbar and selecting Task Manager (Win 10 & 11) or Start Task Manager from the popup (Win 7).

    Why are you running it? Are there processes or such that you need to monitor or shut down? Are you looking at startup apps?
