    My wife is getting my emails on her smartphone...not on her computer. Looking at all the settings, I haven't a clue as to how to stop this(pop-Imap)..etc..anyone ever come across this??

    Hi Tim- sounds like her phone is using POP. If she wants incoming messages to be available on oth phone and computer then both need to be set to IMAP

    confusion..looking at my settings-under -Forwarding and POP/IMAP..pop is enabled.."
    When I mark a message in IMAP as deleted:
    Auto-Expunge on - Immediately update the server. (default)
    Auto-Expunge off - Wait for the client to update the server.
    these are the settings on my computer...I have no idea how to check setting on our phones - both are galaxyA-15's...

    Thanks for your help!!( waiting on my hospice nurse to come...)

    Go back into your settings under Forwarding and POP/IMAP and deselect both Enable POP options. Hopefully that will fix it. Used to know this stuff backwards but that was a few years ago :rolleyes:

    Auto-Expunge on? or off?pop

    On my Gmail, which has no problems, Auto-Expunge is off so that's what I would recommend. POP should be disabled.

    Yes..that' what I did...Diane may go to t-mobile and ask if they have a clue...I've removed her email addy as the backup/recovery addy...

    she doesn't get them on her computer..just on her phone.

    Is she using an email client on her computer, such as Outlook, and is it just emails from you she isn't seeing?

    It's on her smartphone that my emails (gmails) show up. Not on her gmail account on her computer,just her gmails on the phone. I think she may need to go to a T-mobile outlet for answers.What might be a problem is she doesn't remember her password.

    I use pop and leave the message on the server. Never could figure out IMAP as far as handling messages / syncing among devices.

    That's how it was set, but it still sent my email to her email on her phone..changing it, as suggested it, didn't change anything. I also had her email addy as my backup account and changed it to my geek account..no difference.

    1. Sign out of the unknown device:
    • Go to your Google Account settings by going to myaccount.google.com.
    • Navigate to the "Security" section.
    • Find the "Your devices" section and select "Manage all devices".
    • Locate the unknown (wife's) Android phone and select it.
    • Choose "Sign out" to remove your account from that device

    Sounds like a plan...but we both have the exact same phones...oh..right, let me check the about my phone option on each of them...thanks!!

    I signed out of both...don't know how to remove my email account from either...so does she need to sign in to gmail now to get her account? She may not know her password.

    Somehow she got the screen to forgot password...message sent to me and then I hit yes, it's me and it switched to her account...phewwww........
