I have a win10 computer, and I know of 3 other people with win10 computers. We all enrolled in Microsoft's Extended Security Updates (ESU) program for individuals, so we are good to go for another year. Web browsers will still get updates, anti-virus programs will still get updates, so, no compelling reason to move to win11. Microsoft also deemed these computers did not qualify for win11, which is fine. They work well, are responsive, exhibit no problems, and they do everything that is asked of them. When the time does come to get new computers, I'll talk to those 3 people about jumping ship over to apple, but when one has used windows computers all of their lives, it's a hard sell, people tend to stick with what they know, warts and all.

I have that stuff removed through Rufus. I all so skip the setup through Microsoft account system in the command prompt.i got 11 running on only 2 gigs of ram No Bing search engine no edge not even windows defender sucking up unessary resources.

There's no cost if you're "syncing your settings". I've got a local account and have never synced with another device, yet I got off light.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

To skip the Microsoft account requirement during Windows 11 setup using a command, you can use the start ms-cxh:localonly command. This method allows you to create a local account directly without needing to connect to the internet or create a Microsoft account.

During the initial setup, when prompted to connect to a network, press Shift + F10 to open a Command Prompt window. In the Command Prompt, type start ms-cxh:localonly and press Enter. This command will open a window where you can create a local user account. After entering the desired username and optionally a password, proceed with the setup, which will continue using your local account without requiring a Microsoft account.

This method has been confirmed to work as of early June 2025 and is considered a simpler alternative to older methods like OOBE\\BYPASSNRO

I am so annoyed with windows 11. That I reverted back to windows 10. Any thing past windows 11 23h2 is a nightmare and I mean nightmare. I have never had to reinstall windows so many freaking times. It's the new windows 8 .

Won't be downgrading Win 7 with anything beyond that MS has to puke out. DON'T trust the Spyware Privacy Violation Win 10 and Win 11 is much much much WORSE, as in TERRIFYING. Next OS will be Tails and/or a Linux Mint flavor, maybe even a multi boot to include Win XP Pro, Win 7 Pro.

When I obtained Win10, took me a good two days to strip is down, shutoff and delete what I wanted etc.. I am sure I missed something but like to think I did a good job of making it mine. I will NOT being going to WIN11. Since WIN10 to know that the OS is NOT yours even after you buy it is crap.

I too enrolled in Microsoft's Extended Security Updates (ESU) program to give me more time to research, my son did not. I am planning on dual booting with Mint LINUX my son CachyOS based off of Arch LINUX.
