I just added WOT-Web of Trust to my Windows 11 computer and now the computer has a rather large WOT icon in the upper right of the Firefox screen. Then I deleted WOT and restarted the computer, and the WOT icon still appears. Does anyone have any idea how I can get rid of it?

This is what I mean. I've searched around for about an hour and can't find any way to get rid of it.

You say you Deleted WOT. What exactly did you do, just delete WOT or did you properly Uninstall it?

What happens if you happens if you hover th mouse pointer over the WOT and right click on it?

Have you gone into the FF customization settings (like where you can set/change blank page, customize tool bars and such) to see IF you can remove that WOT logo/icon that way?

Short of digging deep into the FF folders, files and code (will explain why in a bit) you may need to Save all your FF Settings, Bookmarks/Saved Pages/Websites, Passwords. At least write down what Apps/Add-ons/Extensions etc. you installed in FF that you still want to use and where gotten from and save their settings. Then FULLY uninstall/remove every last bit and remnants of FF and all associated files. So you can do a 100% clean reinstall of FF and then put back all your settings, apps, add-ons, extensions, Bookmarks etc..

You need to be careful what and how you save/backup the things in FF and how you reuse them on the reinstalled FF. I say this because you don't know what all WOT infected, corrupted, changed in FF and all the other things you added/installed on FF.

As for digging deep into the FF code/files. Years ago I installed Comodo Anti virus on a XP Pro machine (HUGE MISTAKE that I still regret). It fingerprinted itself into FF where it put Comodo on everything entered into the address and search bars. I DIDN' like that. So I uninstalled all the Comodo programs crap, BUT the Comodo garbage still continued adding itself to the address and search bar searches. I did a LOT of digging and finally found a file in FF with some Comodo text. Not being sure IF that was what needed removing/deleting I left it and did more looking. I lost the file and couldn't find where I had found it so I could go back to delete that Comodo text line.

I don't know IF Major Geeks tests and check for fingerprints of software they test install that is left behind on uninstall. When a software/app/extension is uninstalled/removed ALL of it should be removed and should UNDO ALL changes it made on install so NO remnants of itself is left behind. Not all of them do this and that should be noted on the Major Geeks download page for that software they test and upload. Would help IF they would list what needs to be removed/changed after install to return/restore the system to exactly what it was prior to install of that software.

    Good luck.

So I uninstalled WOT and then reinstalled it to make the WOT image go away.
    Thanks for you detailed reply!

Good job. Glad you managed to get rid of that WOT logo fingerprinting.
