So, 1/3rd Of Dutch Citizen's Private Information Got Leaked.

    Hacking group "ShinyHunters" has hacked Odido, one of the largest telecom companies in the country.

    Unfortunately my own data is part of this leak. What a complete pain in the behind man. I've got to change bank account information, e-mail, driver's license and identity card. Passwords I've always used unique ones but still changing them just to be as safe as possible.

    What a pain.

    So many hacks in the US. I am currently getting FREE monitoring from 5 different companies because of hacks on companies/banks/credit unions/insurance agencies/retirement system I have to deal with. Two of the companies have offered two years of monitoring. No matter how safe I keep my info, other companies don't!

    They don't offer anything, just pretend it's all on their customers to look out for stuff and the risks aren't that high.

    They did not used to inform us in the US until a law, forcing companies to inform people if their information was exposed because of a hack. On one hack, we were informed by email but on the others, we got letters instructing us what to do if we wished our info to be monitored. I ALWAYS sign us up.

    As plodr said, SO many hacks. I also have monitoring for free. We have all placed a security freeze on all three of the credit agencies. This way no one can open up any fraudulent credit cards, loans, etc. under our names. It's easy to temp unfreeze if you need to. Honestly, this should be done by everyone.
