    Hello everyone!

It's been a rough few months now when I started getting random crashes on some of my favourite games and even Browser tabs.
The PC is new and I built it myself a few months before the crashes started happening.

    PC Specs
Mobo: Z790 Aorus Pro X (white)
    CPU: i9-14900k
GPU: Aorus RX 5080 Master ice 16GB (white)
    RAM: Dominator Titanium 2 x 32GB 6800mhz
    SSD: 2TB M.2
    PSU: Corsair RM1000x
    AIO: Thermalright Frozen infinity
A few fan controllers + a ton of RGB fans/strips and even a vertical GPU holder from CoolerMaster.
OS: Windows 11 Pro 64 bit

Now into the details... I have no idea what could have caused the crashes occurring during certain games non stop (Games like Wuthering Waves, Warrock, Heroes might and magic V, Path of Exile 2) that worked fine previously while the other games I play to this day work just fine and have never crashed even once. Especially, when Heroes game is such an oldie and takes no power from the PC. I had an issue with Nvidia drivers before and I reinstalled a few times during that time but... I recently gave up with all the programs (directx, c++, netframework) believing software might be the problem so I simply freshly reinstalled my operating system and went back to WIN 10 but the crashes still occurred. A day after I decided to give one more shot and go back to Win 11 - nothing changed, my fav game Heroes 5 still crashes the same as always, sometimes within a few minutes, sometimes works up to an hour or so. Same with Path of Exile 2, sometimes I crash the moment I log in (20 sec to load the game), sometimes I can play for 20-40 minutes.

I tried resetting Bios settings multiple times. I also tried disabling all the fancy RTX modes/ smooth motions etc from Nvidia. Reinserting RAM, changing slots, single sticks did nothing either (Longer time until a crash maybe with a single stick at 1 and 3 slots but still kept crashing). Also want to add I never had the blue screen of death or anything, it's just the games crashing to desktop without an error most of the times and and if I get an error (rarely, but sometimes I get UE4 DX12 error in Wuthering Waves or GPU (device hang)).

I tried Aida64 and y-crouchy for a few hours, at first I got some errors but I remembered I turned back all the XMP stuff ON in bios so I went back to set to the default, no more errors after... My CPU seems to throttle up to ~20% during the extreme tests but that's all about it. I might try checking the thermal paste/how tight is the AIO screwed in the following days.
I also removed the vertical GPU holder for a few weeks now, the issue still stayed. I've also disabled DEP and anti-virus, FAST BOOT, system scans, updated to F9 recent BIOS, GPU firmware also updated, no change. Powerplans, nvidia settings, drivers... Tried them all too.

Let me know what logs I could send here, thanks in advance!

Off the cuff, sounds like a thermal shutdown.

Open Event Viewer with the Windows key + R. Type in: eventvwr.msc then open Windows Logs, then click on System. Find "Filter current log". Find "All Event IDs". Type in: 41, 6008, 6006, 1074

The first two are system initiated. The second two are not.

The crashes seem like RAM instability at 6800 MHz for XMP - especially as there is no experience of crashes without XMP enabled in Aida64 and y-cruncher. Have you tried lowering the speed of the RAM to 5600, to see if that shows any symptoms?

But those are like shutdowns/crashes etc? I had no system issues at this level, neither BSOD or anything. It's just a few errors during the games OR the random crashes straight to the desktop without an error.
I had restarted the PC manually or cut off the power that way when I had issues with the HDMI cable and couldn't do anything but that's not a problem, I did it myself.

I have, currently running without XMP, no difference besides the hardcore tests at AIDA etc. I've even tried changing the speeds to like 3500MHZ and less a few times, still crashed during those older games without an error...

Could be a CPU issue; the i9-14900K is known for degradation problems. Try running the Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool to check if it still passes all tests.
