Hi - Using Outlook on Windows 11 for email - if the laptop is powered down, upon a restart and opening up Outlook again, it has to go through the painstaking process of gaining permission to access google mailservers for my gmail account. It's as if some kind of token is being deleted every time I switch off.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Many thanks!!

Same for me (outlook mail app) but in my case it is affecting all non MS accounts which use 2fa. I only use it as a backup email client but it’s still annoying.

I asked chatGPT about this and it said that this should not happen. When you give permission (once) a token is downloaded which should stay in place. For some unknown reason my token is being deleted at shutdown. There's probably a simple fix but unfortunately it's beyond me. Thanks for responding.

I agree. A windows or app update may do so but it shouldn’t occur on every shutdown.

    Related a bit.
I don't use Outlook and I don't run Windows 11 but several months again (sorry I can't pinpoint the exact time frame) gmail thinks my Windows 7 computers are "new devices". I've owned this laptop since 2013 and my desktop since 2009. So every time I go to gmail, I get security alerts at gmail and my backup email address that a "new device" accessed my gmail account. I figured it was just being picky because I was still using Windows 7.

I found it easier to get to gmail on android devices and chromebooks because it has no problem recognizing and remembering them. This is probably due to using the chrome browser and me signing into the devices with my gmail account.
