    Dear Major Geeks/whoever reads this.

F'starters, this is NOT a complaint. It's a puzzlement. Been trying to download this thing from everywhere and it's just not happening!

Tried it from the Microsoft Store. I get the installer, double-click and get "Something went wrong and we need to try again." It tries to take me back to the Store, I get the blue screen with the little carrier bag on it for a few seconds, then it blinks out and nothing happens! Tried resetting the store, for one lovely second I thought it was going to work - then it just froze solid. Tried using a VPN to pretend I was in Oregon, got as far as the store with lists of things on it, couldn't find the PC Manager on the store anywhere.

Then I GOOGLED and saw it was here. Came along and downloaded the installer. That downloaded fine. When I double-clicked on it, it got to 12% and then came up "Something went wrong." Tried it a few times, get "Something went wrong." every time.

I'm in England. Tried a VPN to pretend I was in America, didn't work. Seen the complete thing on sites like FileCR but not TOO sure about those sites, don't know what comes bundled with it, do you!

Why won't it download? And why I WANT it, is because my Data Roaming (you'll know the hidden file I mean if I've got its name a bit wrong) folder is massive, like 45GIGS. And I've no idea what's safe to delete, so I hoped PC Manager would sort that out for me before Data Roaming munches my hard drive (it's already the biggest folder on the hard drive!) So if anyone knows any other way of sorting out Data Roaming, please say. Last bit...

There's 2 other folders in there, LocalLow and Local. The combined size of all of them, if I select them all, right-click, choose Properties, is 80GIG! If I open them up, everything in the SIZE list reads -1bytes! Why is the SIZE list saying they're tiny when right-clicking shows they're massive? And how do I know what I can delete?

    I'll shurrup now!

    Yours hopefully,

    Chris.

You can run Advanced Windows Cleanup by Hit Windows Key + R. A Run dialogue will open. In this dialogue, copy/paste cleanmgr /sageset:65535 and then press Enter. Windows' own cleaner will open with a lot of hidden selections normally not seen in the regular Disk Cleanup. Click "cleanup system files" button and choose away. It's all safe to delete.

This will safely reclaim a ton of space. When you make your selections and choose OK, the window will go away and work in the background. If it's a lot, it can take hours.

If you want to go third-party and stay safe. This is the modern replacement for CCleaner without the ads, tracking and most times harmful "magic registry cleaning": https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/fluentcleaner.html

    Dear Plodr.

I'm uploading a picture of what happens every time I try to download that thing. I'm using Firefox, if that's got any bearing on it - thanks for your links, but.....

What happens when I try to install PC Manager every time.png
That's the message I get every single time. No idea why. It sits on 10% for absolutely ages, then it comes up with the error message and nothing else happens.

All ideas will be tried. I've cleaned cookies and cache, can't think of anything else to try! Love to have the app, though, if anyone can think of why it's not downloading for me. I've even tried a VPN and pretending I'm in America, that didn't work either!

    Yours respectfully,

    Chris.

I agree with xrobwx71, try a different browser. I find, at least with my FF ESR v. 115 that some sites just don't work with it. I didn't attempt to download it because I'm running Win 7.

I have also installed Brave (not patched in Win 7 now) and Basilisk which is a fork of Pale Moon and a fork of Firefox. Brave is close to Chrome, if your prefer not to install Chrome.

If I can get something to work, I fire up one of our chromebooks and use the chrome browser.
