Windows 11 Licensing Failed On New Install

Hello!


I have an HP Elitedesk 800 G4 (i7-8700 CPU) that wont license Windows 11 after an install. I build this model machine all the time and have done at least 50 so far with no problems. The image I use is on a Kingston flash drive right from Microsoft site.


Interesting facts...



When I load Win 10 on the same machine, I still get the no license error. However... when I use a KMS license tool..it will let me activate it. When I use that same tool after installing Win 11, it errors and locks up.

Is this a genuine/new key purchased from Microsoft or a reputable third party, an old key from a previous device, a cheap key from eBay or similar store or are you just clean installing 11 on a drive which previously ran Win 10? If the latter then during setup skip entering a key & it should activate after signing into your MS account.

 

Defiantly not legit.

 

Windows 10 and 11 should automatically generate a new key.

But if the Laptop or Desktop has a embedded license key.It will revert to that license key in bios.So even if you try to install windows 11 pro..And the system originally had windows home it will revert to windows home.Unless you have a Windows pro key.And enter it in side the windows settings.

A lot of HP have a embedded license key My HP-Pavilion-17-g121wm-A10-8700P is embedded with a home key.

Even if you adjust the installer to have multiple installers.It will still revert to windows home if that's on your system.
