Does Anyone Collect Coins.

I found this off set 1979 coin in my pile.From what i reading it could be worth 100 to 300.

But not sure if it's a 1979 or 1978 kinda hard to tell.I use to collect coins my self.

 

As a matter of fact, I do. What you appear to have is a common 1978 (judging by the shape of the curve on the last digit) Roosevelt dime from the Denver mint. I see no signs of it being broadstruck, double-died, or mis-laminated. It is exceptional only in the amount of wear it has and, while there are collectors who seek out the lowest grade possible for coins, it is mostly for older coins (18th and 19th centuries). I would simply spend it: it's worth ten cents as currency, and less than that to a general collector.

 

It kinda feels smooth like silver. This doesn't feel like a typical 10 cent coin.
Like if you find a 1943 penny copper one that's rare because most 1943 penny's are steel and if you drop a steel penny you hear the difference.A steel penny is much heavier than the typical copper ones.

 

Silver hasn't been used on dimes for circulation since 1964 so, sorry, but it ain't silver.
