My old Win 7 system recently began not respecting previously set locations for various newly-opening windows, or refuses to let me set new positions for their opening, so I downloaded [from here] WinSize2 (version 2.38.04) to remedy the problem. When I extract the files from the saved zip file, I get a regular folder which I can only open to show many smaller files including a couple -.exe ones. How do I run the entire 'program'; usually I get one large file which I can right click, choosing 'Run' to install everything. I don't have such a option here.

The program that initiated this exercise the most was ViewPlayCap, which I need to use while operating a cabled inspection camera "in the field" while offline and on battery power. Workarounds allow that, but the Windows opening wherever just annoyed me...

So far, eighty-some views but not a single comment about what might be wrong or what to try? Should I give up on installing the program and delete the download (which I got here) as being useless? So far, I don't see anywhere near the usefulness of this site compared to most other 'services' I'm familiar with, including the local RepairCafe I volunteer at.

WinSize2 hasn't been updated in seven years, and you're running it on dated soft- (and I assume hard-)ware. You could try contacting the developer through SourceForge, if he or she is still around. Looking at the download counter at MG, I doubt that all that many of us have tried this program and, if you find the level of free assistance here not to your liking, you are, of course, free to go look elsewhere.

Is this kind of problem dependent on the specific program, or something that might happen with any or at least some others, perhaps because of something wrong with my system? I've come to this site because it had the specific program that supposedly does what I need, and I assumed should have some members with the background to help; are you suggesting that last point is unlikely?
If true, what is the point of my staying here wrt my current need?

When people bring items in to the RC events and we have no way to fix them there, we either explain why they can't be fixed, or sometimes we, as individuals, take them home where more processes such as welding are available. Sometimes one volunteer will consult others for suggestions if he doesn't initially have a good method, but no request just gets ignored for long.....
