SUPPORTED INTENT
Designed for Windows 10 and Windows 11 systems with Windows PowerShell 5.1.
The tool uses built-in Windows facilities where available, including Get-PnpDevice,
Win32_PnPSignedDriver, PnPUtil, Compress-Archive and Windows Update Settings.

HOW TO START
1. Extract all files into one folder.
2. Keep the BAT and PS1 files together.
3. Double-click Universal_Windows_Driver_Finder.bat.
4. Run as Administrator only when exporting/restoring driver packages or when Windows requires elevation.
5. Start with options 1, 2, 14 and 15 before attempting any driver changes.

UPDATE SAFETY
This is assisted update discovery, not a universal automatic updater. Windows does not expose
one authoritative current-version catalog for every device. Option 3 reviews installed driver
dates but cannot prove that a driver is outdated. Option 6 opens a search intended to help find
official support sources. Check the actual manufacturer page and exact model/hardware ID.
Option 8 supports a controlled install of one user-selected INF from a driver folder you have already downloaded from an official source. It requires an existing backup ZIP, administrator rights, and typing INSTALL. It does not download packages itself. Windows still enforces its own signing, matching and driver-ranking rules.

BACKUPS
Option 9 exports third-party driver packages with PnPUtil, captures an inventory and system
information, creates a SHA-256 manifest and creates a timestamped ZIP beside the BAT file.
Temporary staging is used under %TEMP% and removed after successful ZIP verification.
If the BAT folder is not writable, logs fall back to:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\UniversalDriverFinder\Logs
ZIP backups themselves are written beside the BAT file. If that folder cannot be written, the
backup operation reports an error rather than silently placing the ZIP elsewhere.

A driver-package export is not a complete system image. It does not guarantee Windows inbox
drivers, firmware, OEM utilities, applications, device settings or a bootable recovery environment.
Keep separate system backups for full disaster recovery.

VERIFY AND RESTORE
Option 10 expands the selected ZIP to a temporary folder and verifies the SHA-256 entries
recorded in the manifest. The manifest is generated for the files present before the manifest
itself is written, so the manifest file does not hash itself.
Option 11 requires administrator rights and explicit typing of RESTORE before using PnPUtil
to add compatible INF packages. A successful PnPUtil exit code does not guarantee every
device was changed or that every driver is suitable. Verify Device Manager and reboot only
when Windows or the vendor requests it.

Fallback logs: %LOCALAPPDATA%\UniversalDriverFinder\Logs
Reports: Driver_Reports folder beside the BAT file when writable.

LIMITATIONS
- No live hardware was scanned as part of creating these files.
- The files have not been executed on your PC in this environment.
- Device status and missing-driver detection depends on Windows' reported PnP data.
- Driver dates are not definitive evidence of update availability.
- Online search results are not guaranteed official; confirm the domain and package signature.
- Some actions require administrator rights, internet access, or vendor-specific installers.
- Do not disable driver signature enforcement or bypass Windows security to install a driver.

TROUBLESHOOTING
- If the menu closes, launch the BAT from an already-open Command Prompt to see startup errors.
- If PowerShell is blocked by policy, follow your organization's approved script policy; do not
disable security controls globally.
- If backup export reports errors, open the included PnPUtil_Export_Output.txt and Live99 logs.
- Keep backups on a separate drive as well if the computer's system drive is at risk.
- Check Device Manager and the PC/device manufacturer's official support page before installing.
