I’m thinking cause I’ve only got one stix in bank A the micro center gskill dim. The other one of the kit had the spreader numbed the dim off it with the big scythe heatsink.

this machinist/juxieshi b450m, shill on sale medical graded/server graded for a home lab and NAS stuff..the solder work is really good on the bottom of the board.

but there is no bios update for the generic 2024 Ami bios it says in the main menu. I purchased this off of eBay and was listed too on aliexpress and Temu..but a kit board none the less.

I’m as well considering if I get another cooler for it the x79 Yargelun board kit with ddr3 1600..pre tested and sent kit with stix. Something else home lab and home NAS if I get a 2tb HDD for my bottom cage of my zalman raven case.

Over all it’s been good..by the DPC error did happen in a heavily part of rendering in eso like memory timeout with my mushkin eco3 480gb ssd sataiii..my nvme I have not had problems with is a Toshiba. Cs2030. Both drives I paid high retail for at 100-120 dollars.

I’m sorta just lighting the bullet with ram right now…a native jedec kit might boot past the oe 2133/2400 jedec speed..and still worth a shot on maybe the Dolgix 2666 kit or silicone power or team Vulcan Z kits.

The ballstix kit is non qvl and a problem being micron E and b die for Ryzen 2600x. I’ve had this cpu since 2015-2016 and on its 2nd board the msi x470 gaming plus was cheap and I think got bios corrupted when I flashed it..it proceeded to shut off and boot loop the vga led and dram LEDs.

So about where I’m at real neat check it out!

I would get the exact stop code before buying either RAM or an SSD. Could you post the stop-code wording/number from the blue screen, your Windows version, and whether a dump was created in C:\Windows\Minidump? Please review any diagnostic files for personal information before sharing them.

If the actual code is DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION (0x133), Microsoft describes it as a DPC/interrupt routine exceeding its time allowance, or too much time spent at a high interrupt level. That code alone does not identify a failed DIMM or SSD. A restart during ESO is not enough to distinguish a driver problem, memory instability and a storage problem.

A sensible starting point on that B450 setup would be:
    - Keep the physically damaged module out; do not use it as a test stick.
    - Record the present memory settings and, if XMP/overclocking is enabled, compare behaviour at the board's default memory settings. One installed stick by itself is not proof of a fault.
    - Note whether the same crash occurs away from ESO. If Event Viewer only shows Kernel-Power 41, that records an unexpected shutdown, not the failing component.
    - Back up important data before stress-testing or changing hardware. Do not flash a BIOS for a similar-looking board: the exact board/revision matters, especially with those generic kits.

The exact stop code and dump analysis are the useful next step; a new RAM kit chosen from this symptom alone could leave you with the same crash.
