µTorrent questions

OK, if anyone else has had this problem, I would appreciate any input you may have.

I started using µTorrent on Sunday evening and was in the process of obtaining a series I enjoy but can't watch due to my work schedule. Every time I start this proggie up, my road runner crashes and burns. I have called them up, had a tech here to check the lines and all, and to no avail. It's like it is jsut overloading it and killing the connection until I go tot he modem and do a hard reboot (power down)

A co-worker of mine got me started on this and has RR as well and doesn't ahve these problems. I am hoping someone may have an idea as to why this is happening and if there is something I can do to fix it.

You need to go to speedtest.net and test your internet connection speeds. Then under preferences and connections you need to set your maximum upload and download speeds accordingly. I have RR and I have found that I can set mine to 100 down and 25 up while still surfing the net without crashing my connection.

What chipset does your motherboard use, some nforce 4 chipsets with the onboard firewall tend to fail with the numerous connections bittorrent requires.

OK, throttled my speed back and am seeing if that doews the trick. NEver knew that I could blow my connection like that...LOL
