1 Computer slow - all others fast

    I was sent here from that Malware Removal forum as the system passed all of those tests with flying colors :)

    I have an issue with 1 computer on a network that started after installed the new version of Trend Micro's Suite on Christmas. I installed that on all computers on the network - and only 1 is having an issue.

    The issue is the internet is slow - like dial up speed slow. Doing a ping of yahoo.com gives us a return of 33ms on that computer VS 100ms on the other computers.

    If I turn of Trend Micro on that computer - it goes back to normal speeds. So - any thoughts on why this would effect 1 computer but not the others?

    It happens. Replace Trend Micro with something else.
    I run Avira on all my computers with no problem( currently 5 windows partitions on 4 computers that go on the internet). I have three Dell Dimension 2400 computers currently in the house. One is my husband's and the other two are a nephew's that I'm working on.
    Avira runs fine on one of my nephew's computers and the other it slowed it down so bad that I removed it and replaced it with MS Security Essentials. I can't explain why it works on two Dimension 2400s and the third one it slows it down to be almost unusable.
