10 FREE Security Apps....

I stumbled across this article at zdnet.com and it's VERY informative. It lists and describes 10 free security apps (most of which are available here at Major Geeks). It doesn't list the obvious stuff like virus protection or firewalls, but some other somewhat lesser known tools. It also lists HauteSecure which is a fairly new antispyware type of thing that I've been checking out. I haven't quite figured out exactly how to get it all working, so hopefully some of you fellow geeks will help out here... anyway, here's the link:

It will make us think outside the box, as CCleaner is the only common one that most of us have heard of, or use.

The fact that they are all FREE is also unusual. Most magazine reviews are full of Shareware ($$$) as they are usually reticent to plug FREE ware.

I Stumbled upon HauteSecure a few weeks ago and like what I see.
I think it is very similar to what FireFox 3 will have built in to it's browser. Along with anti-phishing and no-script.
