This laptop (Dell Latitude D810) has not had it's internet working in about a year. You guys just fixed that. So thank you tgell.

After I did a Windows update (29 of them), my computer keeps spiking to 100%. And going on the internet is close to impossible.

Here is a snapshot I took of the usage blown up and then snapped another one of the services being use.

    Please help!

    Thank you.

Restore back to before you did the 29 updates.
Then do about 5 updates at a time, reboot and use the computer for a bit (a day or 2) before you do 5 more updates. Eventually you might see which update(s) is/are causing the CPU spike.

How do I restore my computer? That sounds scary haha. Can you please give me the correct steps? Also, will I lose all data that I have done since then? I mean I did just do the updates yesterday afternoon.

I did a system restore to see how the computer ran before updates. It was doing pretty much the same thing. I am just guessing the computer is old? Is there any other advice someone can give? I actually ended up just undoing the restore.

Well your screen shot is awfully blurry, can't make out many of the program names. Looks like you've got MSPaint, Java, an HP printer, RealPlayer, Dell software, network connectivity software, etc... running. What all do you have running at startup? Hold Windows Key (looks like the Windows flag between Ctrl and Alt on the left of your space bar on most keyboards) and press R. The run dialog will pop up. Then type msconfig and hit enter. Click the startup tab, list anything here that you either want to not run all the time in the back ground or don't know what it is. (or take another screenshot of the window and post it, but try not to downsize it so it can be read)

Thanks.. I will try that today and repost. For the blurry image I save it in paint but it's always too big to upload to MajorGeeks so I go to smalljpg.com and have it resized to get under 97 as this site requires. Do you have another suggestion?

Crop to just what's relevant before resizing. Then when it resizes the text won't have to compress too far and you will be able to read it better.
You could also host the image somewhere else like http://imageshack.us/ or http://photobucket.com/ or http://www.flickr.com/ and link to it here.

Speccy will give us the Process list and all other info.

    When you install load it.

It will take a few min's to scan.

Then go to file then save as a Text file.

Then upload the text file as a attachment to here.
