    antec sonata case
    enermax 425w noisetaker

120mm fans aren't definitely needed, I get by fine with 4 80mm fans installed.
But I would probably recommend Zalman as my cpu cooler is a 120mm Zalman and never had troubles with it.

    Sure -

You can see the 3 led fans, there's also an 80mm one at the bottom right at the front of the case. This one at the front and the one one the side window blow air in and the 2 you can see at the back take air out. That's quite an old image I'll take an updated one later.

    lspmaster,

You have a Prescott 3.0e in a Antec Sonata case and it stays cool? Did you add any fans ? What CPU heatsink are you using for that Prescott?

there is a place on the harddrive cage i guess
but what is more importent for me is the quite level
i work a lot of hours on it and it's is hard to stay
concentrated when you are in an airfield...
now most of the time i have to turn it manually
before it starts working it self...
and i am using a basic heatsink
that is what they gave me

I like the design, where they allowed space between internal HD's, and to have them placed after the front intake fan. Does it have a front intake fan actually? (Can't see from photo, is it 120mm as well??)

I agree with the akasa fan 44cfm at 18db about the best numbers I have seen, only problem is the price,£10 for a fan,Ispmaster did I read right you have to crank one of your fans manually before it starts spinning?Get those cables tidy,it looks like a bowl of speggetti.LOL :D

If you need to "crank" your fan, this means the voltage going in is too low. I had this problem, when i connected my Akasa 120mm to "Fan-Only" regulated power connectors in my case. When the case was cool, they operated at such a low speed they even started making a buzzing noise. I believe you can actually damage your fan by operating on too low speed, so i connected both 120mm fans to "normal" power connectors so they run at like 1350rpm constant, which is fine as you can't hear them and it creates a steady airflow.

    Dr. Evil,

Can you tell me where you can get the Akasa fans in the USA? I looked at the specs and see why you like them so much ... they do the job and quietly!

    True 'nuff, I'm sure.

But I'll bet that you can move more air more quietly with fewer 120mm fans than any given number of 80mm fans.

Of course, if your case doesn't provide a mounting for 120mm fans, the above observation doesn't count for much. :(

What's all that orange stuff at the left of the picture? It looks like it's blocking the case exhaust fan. Is it?
