16-bit Driver

For some reason my 16 bit driver seems to be missing from my registry. I do not know how that would have happened or if it was somehow corrupted. How can it be reinstalled without having to install windows xp again, is there a way???

 

16-bit.... what exactly? Sound card? graphics driver? elabourate please

 

Please tell me you aren't trying to use 16 bit drivers on a true 32 bit OS

16 Bit Driver

No, but some older games I play will only work in 8-bit graphics mode because of an error message about a virtual driver that is missing. I am pretty sure the error is refering to the 16 bit driver. I believe that something was deleted from my registry that had to do with this setting. Next time I get the error I will copy it word for word if that will help...

Just a question would you be running this program in compatibility mode by any chance? If you give us the error, might ring a bell or you could search the MS KB (http://support.microsoft.com/) for it.
