16 bit Windows Subsystem error on install
    Hi all

Getting a strange message when I try to install one of my older games (Axis & Allies from Hasbro Interactive for Win95/97) from CD rom on my computer. I'm running Windows XP (SP3). The game was previously installed on this computer running Win XP and worked just fine, but I had to reformat my hard drive last spring. Now when I try to install it, I get a message that says...

    16 bit Windows Subsystem
C:\Documents and Settings\me\LocalSettings\Temp\ A temporary file for initialization could not be created or could not be written to. Make sure the directory path exists, and disk space is available.

the path exists, and there is plenty of disk space.

I'm wondering if maybe my Comodo firewall/defense+ is messing it up, it doesn't seem to like the .exe that the game is trying to run...

    Any ideas?

This is just a test type solution.
Try opening a cmd prompt. Start>Run>type in cmd and hit <enter>
Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\me\LocalSettings\Temp so hit <enter> after typing each of the following commands:
    cd c:\
    cd docu*
    cd me(your user name)
    cd locals*
    cd temp

Your prompt should then be C:\Documents and Settings\me\LocalSettings\Temp>
    type in cacls /e /g Everyone:F
See if there is any change.

    Hello,
Open a command prompt in an admin account then type the following. Type <enter> at every command as in sach2's post.

    cd c:\
    cd windows
    cd temp

    You should be at C:\Windows\Temp>

    Then type:
    cacls /e /g Everyone:F

    Does this solve the problem?
