160 gig sata hard drive help ..

personally I would load the games on the C: drive and that I guess is the WD Raptor ( Raptors have a 10k RPM spindle speed over general SATA drives having 7200RPM spindle speeds ) .. they are very quick HDs so for me I would install my games on that drive, they wont play any quicker as in FPS ( Frames Per Second ), thats the department of your graphics card, CPU, motherboard, but the loading time for sections of the game will load a little quicker.


If you install a game on the 160gig drive they wont play off the Raptor, for that they would have to be installed on the Raptor, software runs off the drive its installed on, however alot of software still installs certain shared files and all registry entries on the main C: or OS drive.

Storage drives if you wish to use them that way just hold your important files, pictures etc and any downloads you wish to store for later use. YOU can install alot of software to various drives by using the Custom Install option in th softwares installer ( if applicable ) however I generally install all my main software to the OS C: drive adn leave any other drives for storage of files etc ( My Docs, My Pics etc )
