18 wheels of steel: pedal to the metal CRASHES!!!

hi, i am i need of DESPERATE help. i am running win 2k and system specs are:
1 ghz proccesor AMD duron
248 mb of RAM
directx 9.0c
latest nvidia grafix drivers
Geforce 4 MX 440 grapix card.
It just STOPS!!!

im having a problem with this game too and i have visited their support website but theres no help there. i also installed the patch for the game but it still gives me a full system hang. when it does that i have no other choice but to reset the system with the reset button cause it just hangs there. ive tried leaving it for 10 minutes but it has no effect.

i had it working alastnight for 2 minutes but innocently i pressed the button to disable music and from then on it refuses to work. can you please help. can you tell me where i can renable the music by editing the config file if at all possible? ive even reinstalled the game but same as usual. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!

Heres my system specs:
ati radeon 9600 pro 256mb
asus a7v8x-x
2 sticks of 512mb ram pc333
1 40 gig maxtor hdd
1 10 gig hdd

im using the latest ati radeon drivers v5.9
windows xp sp2 with all the latest update patches

also i have 18 wheels of steel convoy but randomly this game crashes to the desktop.

 

ok forgot to say that my cpu is an AMD ATHLON XP 2200+ 1.8GHZ.
i dont have anything overclocked either.

 

im sure someone is alive out there. is this problem unsolvable or something?
