1809 Freeze Issues

I have a Toshiba Satellite that 1809 refuses to run on.Freezes on restarts/boot and desktop.

 

You may find its a graphics issue- try starting in safe mode, to see if it happens before main drivers load.
1809 gives me similar problems, and I am going to try it with earlier version of W10 (It worked well enough befre 1809 update)

 

I may try running 1809 off a usb if I can figure out WinToUsb.Wish me luck.

 

Tried the usb using 3.5 version of WinToUsb because newer version would not work with 1809.Died out on the last setup screen.Slower than slow not fun.I will call it a fail.Maybe I need Hirens boot CD.

Version 1809 did have a problem in October 2018, and was pulled and bug fixes applied, before putting out again.

I tried a clean install,updated drivers,disabled what was left with a clean boot and still 1809 was just freezing like crazy.Even froze in Safe Mode with kernel watchdog blue screen.This is a MS problem and even the best geeks are baffled by this.It will be reported more once the masses get this update.

I have an idea.If I can figure out how to run a clean copy of 1809 from an external drive then it could give me clue as to whats making it freeze.I have to learn how this is done so it may take a while.

 

The masses got it on Nov 13 last year. It's fine for most ppl.

 

22% of the masses got it so far.

 

That's understandable considering the dreadful cock-up of its initial launch but it's taking off now.

 

I would be able to get mini dump files if 1809 would run long enough without crashing.My hunch is that it would lead to more questions than answers.If 1809's flawed then there's nothing I can do so I wait.
