I just recently installed Windows Vista SP1, and since restarting my computer my sound has totally failed. Upon checking my device manager, the PnP Audio device is malfunctioning, saying "This device cannot start (Code 10)." I've done some poking around, and the word is that SP1 occasionally causes drivers that aren't completely compatible to malfunction, and the most common fix is to simply reinstall said drivers and most of the time everything's fine. I use an ASUS M2N-E SLI motherboard, but the drivers on their page are apparently broken or corrupted since after extraction the setup refuses to run citing that files are missing. I then went into my BIOS and disabled my onboard sound; the PnP Audio device is gone now, but I'm still getting no sound out of my Creative SB X-fi. There's got to be some small step I'm missing, something I'm overlooking. If anyone's got suggestions or prior knowledge of the problem, any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

*edit; I use Vista Ultimate, for reference.

Nevermind, folks. I figured it out. Not surprisingly, it was simple. Simple like 'make sure your sound card is your default device' simple. So yeah, I'm retarded.
