I HAD Both an Adobe Reader 10.1.3 and a .6 separate entries in Control Panel & was counseled in the Adobe Forum that the MUI Installer would "Solve this" when upgrading to 11.0. It DID ..... BUT the Chk for Updates "within 11.0" (to 11.0.2) FAILED for "Authorization" issue and the 48 MB EXE Dnload that DID Update to 11.0.2 put a 2nd Reader Line back in Control Panel again. The Reader Forum guys can't keep coming back to me - so - does anyone know IF this is a Big Deal, or should I use the Reader Removal Tool, wipe-out everything, and start from scratch?

PDF's DO OPEN Fine in Firefox 19.0.2 and Win Explorer - but is having the 2 Control Panel entries (11.0 is 568 MB / 11.0.2 is 126 MB) a problem-in-waiting? THANKS!!

If it were my computer, I'd uninstall both versions using Revo Uninstaller

and then reboot and do a clean install of the newest version which I would have downloaded to my desktop before I started the cleanup.

Since unpatched versions of Adobe Reader are ways that malware gets into your computer, it isn't a good idea to have anything but the newest version installed. The 11.0 version might be a way for malware to get in and isn't worth the risk, IMO.

I should have mentioned that I removed Adobe reader and am using Sumatra on all the windows computers (2K, XP and 7) in the house.

It's small and does more than just pdf files.

Installing a newer Adobe Reader version "should" uninstall earlier versions, but sometimes fails to do that.

The Acrobat Removal Tool http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html will uninstall all versions (including Acrobat!), then just install the latest version.

Went ahead and used the Cleaner and followed with the 48MB ".exe" 11.0.2 Installer. ESET ESS didn't like something and gave me a pop-up; While I was deciding how to proceed Reader 11.0.2 Installed Itself and all is well.
Control Panel NOW has 1-Reader Line Only, as it should.

    Thanks to All of you.
