2 cable modems(XboX 360+PC setup)

is it possible to have 2 cable modems set up on 1 connection?

i want one for pc, and 1 for xbox 360.

the 2nd modem costs a less than the wireless adapter for 360 and will provide me w/ secure wired connection speeds while gaming.

i moved my cable modem down to my 360 and it worked fine, but i am having doubts about 2 working at same time so i dont want to waste my money.

this has been bothering me...hope u can help..=/

(i think this is possible because there were times when my isp was screwing up and i wouldnt be able to go online in a browser..but i could direct ip connect to a server in any video game on pc, same would apply for xbox,just needing an internet connection? or does it need the whole ip adress/subnetmask/etc, obviously not a network expert here..lol xD)

 

ISP's screw up all the time, however you cannot bank on them screwing up your service everyday because eventually they find their mistakes. 2 Modems will not work on one account, your isp only issues one ip address per account.

You wouldn't be able to run both devices at once, but could run one then shut the pc/cable modem off and turn on the xbox/cable modem. That would work fine.

 

thnx for the info, ya its kinda not worth it since i am living w/ other people..conflict is bound to happen..xD lol
