2 cpu's witch is better??????

ok guys i have two cups here and im just curious to know witch one is better or if i would tell a dif????? the one in my computer is a intel celleron 2.88ghz/128/400, made in the year 2002. now the other one i have is a
intel pentium 4, 2.66ghz/512/533,made in the year2001. witch one would u put in ??????? thanks for your time guys.:major

 

The Pentium4 is faster. It has bigger cache (512k vs. 128k on the Celeron) and a faster bus speed (533mhz vs. 400mhz on the Celeron). When faced with choice between a Pentium4 or a Celeron of a similar main speed, the better choice will ALWAYS be the Pentium4.

 

thanks dlb, i just noticed that the front of my tower says pentium4 on the little sticker.now 1 more quickie..........will i notice any kind of increase of system speed/game play??????? i have 2 gigs of memmory at 400mhz i think

 

You may notice a small difference with the Pentium 4. Game play will be a bit smoother, but may be barely noticeable. On the whole, the PC will just run better and smoother, with slightly less lag in regular everyday usage. The difference is small, and may not be noticeable to you, but the PC will be happier.

 

Well obviousy Pentium 4 as it has bigger cache and higher bus speed like dlb mentioned.

But tbh both processors are now old as they are only single core and these days people are running duo core or quad core.
So don't be expecting some major changes in overall speed of your PC if you choose the P4 instead of Celeron
