2 email addressed on Outlook

Hi Everyone

I have just bought a new computer , it is connected via a router to the main computer in our house. Our main computer runs outlook. I am wondering if it is possible for me to also have an outlook email address on my computer although we share the same broadband connection

You sure can. However if they are set up with the same email account and the settings with your ISP are configured to not leave a message on the server... then you will get your new mail to what ever computer you logon from first. If you are leaving messages on the server then you will get the same mail to both. I have two PC's set up using seperate accounts.

Yes, as Jerkyking said, you can configure Outlook to leave a copy on the server if you need to so that all emails go to both computers. Open your Outlook, go to Tools, Account settings, and from there, I'm not sure, it may be Advanced, but somewhere in there, you'll find a box that says "Leave a copy of message on server". You can check that box, and then check which options you want, such as "Leave copy on server til I delete, or move from Inbox". or what ever. I use Thunderbird, so I'm not sure of the actual layout, but that should get you close to what you want. My wife and I use the same email address, and the same computer, but with different User Accounts, so we leave a copy on the server til the message is deleted.

Thanks alot, so even if i had a different address i would still recieve mail from our main outlook address and vice versa?

 

No not if you setup a different address. That would work fine.
