    Hi,

I have a wireless setup in my house: a desktop computer is connected to a modem through a wireless router, and I use the wireless on my laptop. Yesterday I got annoyed at how slow my wireless connection was, so I tried to hook it up to a hard line. Long story short, that didn't work (only because I'm an idiot) but now the wireless on my laptop won't work. The strange part is that it says I'm connected. (Status: Connected. Signal Strength: Excellent). But, when I go to IE or anything else, the internet doesn't work.

I've spend the past 1.5 hours on the phone with IBM and they couldn't figure it out, so if someone here gets it, not only will I be eternally grateful but you should also give yourself a nice pat on the back.

I've already tried rebooting, restarting the router/modem/both computers, and system restore. I'm not that great with computers but I can hold my own. Help me please.

It sounds like your associated to the wireless but not authenticated. If your using WEP or WPA make sure you encryiption keys are correct and SSID is correct. It could have got hosed somehow palying around. It sounds like a wireless security issue.
