I have seen this stated in threads for AVG but haven't seen it posed as a question so here it goes.

    1) When AVG FREE finds a Virus it gives you a pop up with options well I would like to know what is the correct option to click?? Should it be healed or sent to vault

    Now my 2nd question..

    2) I went to use my HD Cleaner this morning and it said it has expired & to check for updates so I went to the MG downloads to download the newest version and that is the expired version. So, where do I go to get the update &/or newest version

Many thanks for all that MG does and provides.

    Hi!
If it can be healed, do so...if not, quarantine it.
Need to know the Name of the Program...there should be a link to the Author's site in the Help section of the program...'About'

For number two if the program has expired you will need to purchase ($$) a key to keep using it. Sounds like it is classified as 'Shareware". which means you get to try it for a while then pay if you want to keep it.

If you're talking about the free program named HDCleaner, available from MG:
MG Free Download - HDCleaner 2.362
    http://www.majorgeeks.com/download1287.html

I have that same version, mine says it expires July 15. Probably just a glitch, uninstall it and re-install the same version, it should be fine.

I use CCleaner for routine cleaning myself, but HDCleaner is better for rooting out the deeply buried junk.

    Thanks to all that replied...

As for the AVG I just never knew which one to use. I have always selected Heal but I just wanted to be sure I was doing it the proper way. I have gotten all my friends and family to use AVG so sometimes it finds it on their computers and they are also wondering which is the proper thing to select. So, thanks for the answer to that.. Now a related question.. if Heal is selected and then the same thing pops up again a few moments later does that mean the Heal did not work and we should select send to Vault now??

For the Cleaner.. I use the free HD Cleaner from MG for my indepth cleaning but I use CCleaner on a regular basis. For some reason at the time of my original post the HDCleaner was telling me it had expired and to download updates (something to that effect) so I uninstalled and went to the MG site and downloaded it from there and reinstalled it. Still got the same thing so later last night I tried the HD Cleaner again and it worked (shrugs) dunno must of just been a glitch.

Thanks again to all that replied.

Right, if Heal doesn't work, try to sending it to the Vault. If that doesn't work, then do the Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal procedure: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407

If it still comes back, post for help on the Malware Removal forum.
