256color gone so is internet conn.

Happy B-Day to all!!! Is there any way to connect to the internet via inline phone jacks into 1621 Compaq Presario OS 98win. Please help. I do not have any disk or CD.

 

Have you got dialup networking installed?

 

If you're trying to get online via dial-up, you'll need to be sure the PC has a modem w/ current drivers, a dial-up access number, and a user name and password for the dial-up account. Without these things, you won't get far on the internet.... You can set up this stuff in IE so a CD (like AOL, PeoplePC, EarthLink) is not needed. Post with more info and we'll try to get you going.

Sorry this was 2 be a post. Thankyou Ver Much Hooperdave2000 & Yargwel. I'm new at this. I repaired I.E. I will be able to access the net!!! I have webtv paid until Jan 07. I still have prob with 256 Colors, set drivers in safe mode for Neomagic. Normal mode I click settings as promted screen goes blank ? win still on I have to shut down with off button. any ideas ? Thanks
