256Colors

  1. Many Thanks to Hopperdave2000 & Yargwel!!! My prob was in I.E. I went safe mode for drivers for neomagic prompt says 256 will be on normal mode. restarted win , cont,display: I click on settings and screen goes blank win still running? Please help What did i do wrong?

    If you can still access safe mode, i think you can use system restore or try removing your display driver and i think windows will pick it up again.

    If the screen is going blank it could indicate the driver you are selecting is corrupt (or the wrong driver entirely).

    As ekhan says try removing the display driver and then re-boot.

    To remove the driver Right click on my Computer> Properties>Hardware>Device Manager>Display Adapters> click on the + sign to expand the branch and then select your driver. Then click Action (at the to of the screen) and then uninstall. Click OK on the warning message. When it has done its thing you will need to reboot normally to allow Windows to reload the driver. You may need your XP disc handy or your driver disc if you have one.
