After looking around on my system (XP home)
    seems I have 3 firewalls.
first is XP, then Zone Alarm and finally
the DSL router/modem (2Wire from PacBell)

    Sounds like trouble to me.

    Suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Disable the Windows Firewall
    Keep ZA ( I prefer Sygate:p )
The DSL Router is Hardware Firewall, If thats the Case, your fine
It's OK to use one Software Firewall & one Hardware Firewall

Hi bukzin and welcome to Majorgeeks!

Its Ok to run both a hardware firewall (router) and a software firewall for that added extra protection......I use both as well!

However, you must only have 1 software firewall activated at any one time, otherwise you may have a 'conflict of resources' issue.

Most 'third party' software firewalls like Zone Alarm, will automatically 'deactivate' your windows firewall, when installed.
If you are running ZA, just double check that your windows firewall is turned 'off' in your 'security centre'

    Edit.....snuck under me there Asus!

    Regards....
