    I came across these 3 in a magazine.:cool
I haven't tried them (yet), just listing them. :D

    Mayura Chess Board 2.0.0.2
    Download location www.mayura.com/chess/
    File size 4.23M
    Licence Free
Platform Windows 2000/XP/Vista with Microsoft .NET Framework

With Mayura Chess Board you play chess against your computer, choosing from beginner to advanced levels of play. If you're a beginner, you'll find plenty of tips to help you become an expert chess player quickly. Advanced players will find the included Sjeng chess engine gives them challenging games. There's unlimited undo, as well as animated piece movement in this excellent chess program.

    TimeLeft 3.26
    Download location www.nestersoft.com/timeleft/index.shtml
    File size 1.97M
    Licence Trial, then $US19.95
    Platform Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP/2003 Server/Vista

TimeLeft is a great collection of time-based utilities, including a clock and alarm, a stopwatch and an auction watch.
You can have all the utilities running at once, in a separate floating window.
If you're a keen online auction user, you'll enjoy the auction watch — you can keep an eye on all your running auctions,
and be alerted when an auction is close to ending.

    ImagePlay 0.2
    Download location sourceforge.net/projects/imageplay/
    File size 2.23M
    Licence Free
    Platform Windows 98/2000/XP, QuickTime

ImagePlay is a great free program that lets you add glitz to your photos.
You can create layered effects, as well as rotate, twist and otherwise manipulate your images.
The program adds fast interest to photos, such as those you want to add to Web sites.
So for example, you can add reflective layers to photos, so that the images look three-dimensional.
