From a paid advertisement, in Windows Secrets newsletter this week (http://WindowsSecrets.com/comp/110310).

For XP lovers with a lot of data, videos, music, etc., who see no reason to update to Vista, or Windows 7. :-D

I wonder how long it would take to backup 3 TB.;)

    Interesting.

At the risk of playing devil's advocate, I'm not sure I'd be comfortable using a drive over 2TB on any OS yet for a few reasons:

    * The long-term reliability of drives over 2TB has yet to be proven. I worked in retail when Seagate's first 1.5TB hit the market - after 3 months (and countless complaints) they ended up recalling all the initial stock and replacing it with a new (corrected) platter design.

    * The cost per TB on a 3TB drive is still pricier than using 2x1.5TB or 3x1TB drives - even if you have to blow an extra $30 or so for a SATA expansion card to add more ports.

    * Even with regular backups, I prefer to hedge my bets by not putting too many eggs of data in one hard drive basket. The bigger they are, the harder they fall.
