Looking for help. Trying to connect 3 systems together but different than normal.

System 1 and 2 together for file and printer sharing.
System 1 and 3 together for internet access.

However I don't want system 2 to have internet access.

Plan on using a network switch between 1 and 2 and a router between 1 and 3.

What I would like to know, is this possible? and will system 1 work with two LAN cards to get it to work?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks...

Will the user of the machine you don't want to access the internet be someone at all computer savvy? If not, you could network all three together using only the router, and hardcode the DNS server setting in that machine's TCP/IP properties to a non-existent private IP. For example, if your router's IP is 192.168.0.1, you typically use that or the actual IP(s) of the DNS servers of your ISP. If you set it to, let's say 192.168.0.255-- no DNS, no internet.

    or, ...

using 1 router, connect all 3 PC's. windows advanced filesharing lets you set up permissions to which computers can access your files (so you could allow only computer 2)

assign computer 2 a static IP on your network, and use port filtering to disable its internet capabilities very easily.
