Hello, I`ve got some 3200r memory and know it is registered so can not be used in a normal system, you just get beeps. I would like to know which reasonably cheap computer I could buy to test the RAM. Thanks.

I'm assuming you're referring to memory that has ECC (error correcting code) enabled.

ECC memory is specifically designed for server applications - as such, it will rarely (if ever) work in a standard desktop motherboard.

The only way to test it is in an older server (or older server board) that uses DDR 3200.

Personally (unless you have dozens of sticks), I wouldn't worry about testing it. Newer servers use DDR2 or DDR3, so the DDR 3200 is almost obsolete. If you want to get rid of it, list it on eBay as "untested, as-is".

    Hope this helps. :)

Hello, thanks, I`ve not got that many sticks, I rather not just have items lying around.
