I am connecting the internal HDD via USB cable.

I've used many internal HDD's in the past using this USB cable and have never encountered this problem before.

I just took the HDD out of the box and linked it to my notebook Presario V2000.
The default HDD inside the notebook is 40GB.

    I'm running Windows 7 Evaluation cop7. Build 7100

    Please help, thanks!

    Hello,

Internal hard drives are either connected via SATA or IDE. Do you have the hard drive in an external hard drive converter?

Exactly, it's a USB to IDE.

Any ideas of what it could be?

    This has never happened before.

Anyone out there with experience with an issue like this?

    Hi Kasten,

Connect the external hdd to a different PC - same result?

What format is it, FAT32 or NTFS?
