   my laptop is still way to slow
   
   i tried this recommended by someone kind

   an id did all the crap cleans and disk defrags, and turned of pafe file discharge stuff, but it still takes 37 secs and sometimes more
   
   saving our settings takes 5 secs,
   then windows logging off takes ages (20-30)
   
   i have checked for spyware/virusand stuff.
   
   any ideas to speed up this baby?

   Does you LT have an Nvidia GFX chip? if so disable the Nvidia Display Driver service as that is known to slowdown shutdown.
   
   Think mine shutsdown in around 30secs or more depends what settings etc its saving on shutdown.
