3D Mark 06 won't run after GPU upgrage

I ran 3d Mark 06 yesterday with no problems. I upgraded my video card today, tried to test it out, and it just hangs at a scanning system window. I uninstalled and reinstalled 3D Mark, same thing, just hangs until I close the program. No errors, nothing in the event logs...

Any ideas? The new card seems to be working well, I have Crysis running now, bumped my settings to medium. The card is an ATI 3850. Well, I am going to play Crysis and make sure it does not crash...

Oh well, looks like a faulty card, so it seems to be hardware related. Dang thing games great, but 3DMark6, 5, and 3 hang, and windows gets pretty distorted. I will try some new drivers just to see, otherwise it goes back next week.:cry

Tried the 7.12 Cat drivers, still will not run the benchmarks. Everest says I have 1024 RAM on my video card... Should be 512Mb???

I have exactly the same Problem with Gigabyte HD 3850 512 mb , 3D mark programs will not start up , CPU usage is near 50% and stays like this until i kill the process . What could it be?

Hey all there is a patch for 3dmark 03,05, and 06 that lets it recognize the new cards. http://www.futuremark.com/download/hotfix_oct07/ had the problem with 3d same as you when I installed my 3850 ran the patch and voila
