3D Windows XP Screensaver STARTS/STOPS

My OS is Windows XP Home, SP2, Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 1800+, MMX, 3DNow, ~1.5GHz, 2048MB RAM, Monitor: DCLcd Plug and Play Monitor - Max Res: 1600,1200, Display Memory: 256.0 MB, ATI RADEON 9600 Series AGP, DirectX 9.0c.

The problem I'm having is that I've downloaded the above 3D Windows XP Screensaver from Microsoft and installed it correctly. However, when I select it as the current screensaver and attempt to preview it, it appears momentarily and then cuts off as if the keyboard or mouse was touched. So I clicked on "OK" anyway to use it as the current screensaver with a 5 minute delay, (there are no properties settings with this screensaver). Now whenever the screensaver needs to kick in, it does the same thing. What is the problem?

 

Did you try to go directly on the files and click right mouse button and see if you have setting you could change the files should end with extension .SCR

Yes, I went directly to the executable file (3D Windows XP) in the C:/WINDOWS/System32 directory and right clicked the file. There are absolutely no settings for this screensaver.

is this the one you download http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/desktop/xpscreensaver.mspx

it's realy and old one 2001 maybe that's why you have problem with it...

if this is the one i will download and try to fix it for you.....

Yes this is the exact one I downloaded. If you can repair it I'd appreciate it.

 

Okay i have download it and install and you are right there is no options
for this screensaver i have check the install files for tweaking it and no when
this thing start if you move your mouse or touch the keyboards poof it cut off.

So sorry you have to choose anothers one this one is to old 2001 the new screensaver have alot of options now....

So try anothers one they are plenty or free screensaver outthere good luck...

Earlier this year I was using this screensaver with no difficulties - I have no idea what changed since then. But I'm using another screensaver now, so whatever...
