3d8d.dll issue with some games

With some games from Demonews I get the following error message:

d3d8.dll linked to missing export DDraw.DLL.Lock CB...

I am on Windows Me, Pentium III (1000 mghz), DirectX 8.1, 382 RAM, 2.0G Virtual memory, Intel(R)82810E graphics card. DirectX Diag says I have no dll
problems. Need help to solve this issue. I am an older fogie without much computer knowledge, so replies in "computer ease for dummies" would be helpful. Thank You. Anton

 

Thank you Halo for your reply. I am on DirectX 8.1. DirectX 9c will no longer download to Windows Me. Other forums viewed about this issue where people did get DX9 did not fix the issue. Games downloaded from Demonews are platform, arcade, or sidescrollers with low mgb. Many work well. Some with this error issue for my operating system are Qube, Redwall, Terra Fire, Jumping Squirrel and Klob & The Dark Gate. Thank You...Anton

Halo, the issue still exists after the re-install of DirectX 8.1. I have checked this issue out on the general web. There does not seem to be answer anywhere at this time. Will keep looking. Thank You....Anton
