4 pin power supply problem

a friend of mine hand me his system unit to reformat. when i get home i back up all his data in D:\. i winrar his 40+gb data into 7gb/ part cuz i only have 2 8gb usb drive so 40/7=6 parts aprox. when the compresion is in part 4, the system unit starting to warm for 3 hours. the compresion is in the last part, which is part 6 when sudenly the system unit is dead. its like a brownout. i press power on but avail. i dismantle the sys unit and it smels like ironing clothes and its very HOT. i leave it for 30 mins and put back the parts (not hot anymore), the heatsink spins but no visual on monitor. when i look back the board. the 4pin (i dont know what it is called but it has 2yellow and 2 black wire) is not connected. when i connect the 4 pin, the heatsink wil not spin. please help me fix this. im not into hardware.

whats the appropriate solution for this problem? hoping for your kind help.

EDIT: The board is GeForce6100PM-M2 v2.0 the heat sink has a stikcer of amd and i cant determine the powersupply cus it not the usual location. its power supply is below the hdd.

We try to help all here, but this is a tough one. I will try to explain clearly, but some hardware knowledge is necessary.
This is a fairly old unit in computer time. The CPU is not as good as the modern ones at protecting itself from heat. You need to consider the CPU may be damaged.

About all you can do is swap components if you have them. If not, clean it up, put new heat sink compound on the CPU cooler and try it again.

I would try cleaning it up, stripping the system to one RAM stick and one HDD. See if that minimal configuration will post into the BIOS. If that works try to boot into Windows.

Ignore the four pin connector.
